Trinity School is the fifth oldest school in the United States and the oldest continuously operating school in New York City. Founded in 1709 as the parish school of Trinity Church in Lower Manhattan, its first classes were held in the church's bell tower and the old city hall. Columbia University, then called King's College, was founded on the first floor of a Trinity School building. In 1895 Trinity moved to its present location on West 91st Street, where it is now housed in seven connected buildings, several of them landmarked. Enrolling 1,000 coeducational students in kindergarten through 12th grade, the student population is organized into lower, middle and upper schools. Lower school students take classes complemented by various specialized subject areas, including library, science, computer, music, art and physical education. The highly structured middle and upper school curricula include programs in classical subjects like Latin and Greek. Students can take specialized and advanced courses as well, preparing them for higher education. The Trinity Tigers athletic department has proved highly competitive, regularly winning tournaments and taking home titles, with programs for girls and boys in soccer, cross country, indoor track and field and swimming.

My child attends this school and our experience has been a mixed bag. The school is committed to its reputation and brand but is not as invested in building a community for all (especially if you are not super wealthy or fit in with the status quo). The administration is very conservative and has not been receptive to concerns if they don't fit their agenda. I urge any parent shopping for private schools to look carefully at what they want for their child and not let the name 'Trinity' lure them in. It may cost you so much (and your child or children).

I had a great time at Trinity school. The best part about it is the student and teacher relations. I was extremely close with almost all my teachers.

Trinity has worked to maintain its stellar academic reputation. It has moved away from previous stringent religious policies to a more inclusive, diverse culture. The administration has done a wonderful job connecting with students and paving the way for healthy roads to academic success.

School doesn’t support students emotionally. Principal and teachers push political agenda onto your brains. Truth and research is not important in this school. School supports terrorism and violence.

Ginn Quinn the lady over student activity likes to teach Marxist ideally to her students, division that white students are lower class than other students..can't do that to kids, they all should be equal.

This school is very challenging. I came from a nowhere near as challenging school and was able to coast by my first year but it has become increasingly difficult but I manage it because I know it is for my own benefit. The teachers in the Upper School are amazing while the Middle School teachers are...
