Troy High was a great high school where I made many friends and thrived in academics. I think they somewhat prepared me for applying for college, but most of the information I needed to find out myself.

My family relies on financial help from my school, like free lunch and waiving AP exam fees. The best part of my high school experience was my counselor and how he was always there for me. I never once felt ashamed to go and ask for financial help because my counselor made me feel like I had a community. I always felt like I belonged somewhere. A big part of that was the halal food accommodations that I could get from the school cafeteria. While I experienced a lot of good, there was also the inevitable bad. Going into my senior year of high school, I feel scared. I don't know how to apply to college or what to do. There was never any guidance from the school on that matter. In addition, there were some teachers notorious for not teaching or "only being there to coach a sport." I would like to see my school change and be more involved in the transition from high school to college as well as giving students, especially low income ones, better resources to learn with things like the SAT.

I love it. The atmosphere is so cool and teachers are really great. Teachers will always support you and in my experience help you to achieve your goals in any way they can. The administration is really great too, the principle is super nice and always walking around talking to students, really interested in not just being a role model but also a friend. The assistant principles are also great as well. I never feel unsafe or like I couldn't talk to them if something was happening. I love this place and I will miss it.

This used to be a good school from what I was told. Unfortunately my child has not had a very good experience. The education is average IMO but certain teachers try to push their own agendas on kids and the bullying is out of control.

I never realized how well Troy High prepares its students for college. I am so thankful for going to this school and the teachers are great. If you want to learn they will teach you. If you want a friend they can be one. The choice, as always, is yours.
