The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.
The Test Score Rating reflects annual state test results for this school compared with scores statewide.

The best part of McLain is that the teacher are actually genuine about helping you and act like we're there kids and want the best for us in all aspects. The bad thing is just because we are labeled as a bad school people outside of McLain think we're bad people in general or not smart enough because we go to McLain.

I like McLain High School because it may not be the perfect school and they don't act like it. But they are trying to make it a better school for the students. We've gone from the worst school in Tulsa, OK to the 2nd or 3rd worst. Which is amazing progress for my school. The teachers and administration are great. They really care about our education.

My overall high school experience was great!! Since I first started McLain I never though I'd like it because it was just so much different. I felt like I was an outsider and didn't have any friends. Currently I am a senior now and my whole view I used to have has changed. I have been involved in soccer all four years and don't regret it at all. I am currently the secretary of my class and also am in the debate club! School has been very fun and great for me. The more involved I am I wish to not leave. Great please to be.
Principal Harper was the best principal. She was involved with the students and loved her job! She always was available and talked to the students. I wished she never left McLain. The school was in bad shaped before she came. She cleaned up the school and made sure that the students were safe!
Despite what people have said and spread about McLain High School for Science/Technology it is an amazing school and has changed in the past couple of years the administrators are turning the school around. The Teachers are positive and they care about the success of every student. I love this schoo...
