I like this school and that it is growing. There are some really awesome teachers. The instructions and rules are clear. I think the extracurricular programs could be enhanced like theatre, art, and ag.

Great students but administrators are sometimes overbearing and pass unnecessary rules. Teachers are nice and helpful especially Dacia McBryde who is the adult readiness teacher.

All in all, Van Alstyne High School is a decent high school. There is a slight bit of racism and a pretty big vaping problem. On the contrary, the teachers either give 110% or about 50% into their work. Most teachers are nice, but there's the occasional few who aren't the best. The school provides a great selection of activities, but the budget they give is little to none.
