I hated VHS. The counselors were mean and unhelpful. The food was mediocre at best. I liked some of the teachers. There was one teacher who caught a case.

The teachers at Verona High School care about their students and truly want them to succeed. Through its offering of AP courses, it also gives students an opportunity to get a taste of college and gain credit. However, since the school does not have finals, they might come as a shock to students entering college.

At the higher levels, the teachers are great and want you to succeed. At CP level classes, many teachers have quite low expectations even though they do want you to do well. Push yourself to do honors and/or AP classes, but don't get pressured by the counselors to do what they want.

Two of my three children have graduated VHS, and now my youngest is entering her Sophomore year. VHS offers students a sense of self-worth difficult to find in very large high schools, along with a solid education which prepares them for college and society.
