Neighboring the campus for Wickenburg High, Vulture Peak Middle School is a public school serving more than 150 students in sixth through eighth grades in the Wickenburg Unified School District.
With the benefit of teaching in a smaller, more tight-knit community, the teachers and staff here work to help all students achieve their full potential as respectful and responsible lifelong learners. Most notably, the school endorses a Character Counts program which espouses and reinforces the six pillars of character: trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring and citizenship.
In addition to a core curriculum, students can expand their creativity and media skills in art and yearbook, learn fitness in physical education, test their leadership skills in student council or develop their musical talents in band and choir. When it comes to athletics, Vulture Peak Eagles can compete in volleyball, basketball, baseball and softball while the school hosts its own ball field, lit for games well into the evening.
Outside of the usual classroom routines, the school also plans a calendar of events throughout the year from holiday events and choir programs to dances, movie nights, food drives and spirit weeks.

I was a student at Vulture Peak in the 80's. It was the best school I have ever been to. During that time, Wickenburg was a small town with very few people. Class size at that time was about 10 to 15 students in each class. I think it was 1985 when I graduated.

Love most of the teachers here at the school. However, there are a few that need to retire. The principal needs more control and the SRC needs to go away. It does NOT work. The new Blended Learning Program seems to a great new program added this year. Change is coming for the better. Unfortunately,...
