GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

High School of Health Sciences has everything to ensure its spot as number one in the state. There are so many outreach opportunities that push us into our hopeful futures. There is also so much room for people who may not want to pursue a health science major/career. The teacher's main goal is to prepare its students for college.

I really enjoyed my time there, and I feel like I learned a lot. Some things are changed around now, but I gained a close relationship with my teachers, and I was able to do outreach to explore the fields I was interested in. I also was able to take a lot of AP classes, which was very helpful for college credit. Because it was a charter school within the larger high school, we used the main school's counselors. I kind of wish there was a separate one for HS^2, and one that would be there for more than a year at a time. I had a lot of trouble trying to apply for college, and what colleges I should even apply to, so I wish I was able to get more assistance with that, and the main school's counselor wasn't very helpful.

I had a great experience in HS2. It provided not just the basic classes needed to graduate but the opportunity to take health and science-based classes to expose me to potential careers. And mixed in with this was the opportunity to take special off-campus learning courses such as a CNA course or EMT or research-based learning at the hospital. And the best part is this is a charter school within the broader high school so we can take courses from both and get the full high school experience.
