Kids are learning and growing every day at Walnut Grove Elementary School, where educators teach not only academics but the social skills that kids need to succeed in life. To create a safe, nurturing environment, the school focuses on teaching children respect and responsibility as students are rewarded for positive behavior.
Walnut Grove Elementary kids are taught from a traditional curriculum featuring language arts, math and science offerings. Students also have “specials” classes in art, music and physical education, giving them opportunities to grow culturally and develop physically.
With over 600 students in pre-kindergarten through fifth grade, Walnut Grove ranks above average in standardized testing, showcasing the school’s strength in math as well as reading and language arts. Students can stay after school for “LEAP”, a Learning, Enrichment, Academic Program where kids can have fun as they complete homework and educational activities, learn in the computer lab, learn to play golf and much more. Clubs also offer opportunities for kids to explore their interests. They can sing in the chorus, join the archery club, be part of the reading bowl team and much more.

The school has gone downhill, some of the office staff has been there 20+ years and enjoy gossiping more than teaching the kids. The current counselor is a busy buddy who is weird and unprofessional.
