The school's funding is severely lacking and it truly is affecting the students by having them make sacrifices. I personally don't have a science class this year due to lack of staffing and funding. I'm also having to run and organize things for the school, such as dances, because the teachers aren't able to help due to them taking on multiple other roles. The academics themselves are fine, but the overall mood in the school is less then ideal.

The Highlander Charter School has amazing teachers and staff who are always there to help. The students are welcoming and always treat each other with the utmost respect. Teachers provide great one on one attention and care about each student as an individual. The school counselors work with students to best assist them with anything they need whether college bound or headed into the world of work or a combination of both. A Highlander education reaches beyond the brick and mortar.

Went to Highlander after escaping a toxic school environment. They welcomed me with open arms even though I wasn't exactly like the students they had. They treated me exceptionally well and I'm so proud to have gone there. Go Hawks!
