Benjamin Banneker is a school that gives immense stress. It is most definitely a college readiness school. Although, sometimes some teachers go over board with the work load and gives an immense unnecessary amount of stress to the students. In addition, the mental health of students is not well taken into account for. Overall, this school pushes you to the limits and will help hone one's working skills.

Benjamin Banneker is a vary good academic high school, with a great building , good teachers, almost no bullying, and their is almost never a fight. Their are a lot of people pushing you to do your best and try your hardest to get the good grades. I feel prepared for college, but it dose lack some of the other high school experiences. School spirt is not a thing and school wide activity's are low so high school can feel like a lot of work and pressure but without the more social aspect. The are few to no fieldtrips which is unfortunately as we are in the middle of city that has so many activity's that could be related to school. Overall a great school if your only focuse is to get as much school work in and go to the "best" colleges.

My experience with my school is very positive. They have the best teachers and resources which allows us to readily prepare for college. Each of our classes are designed similar to actual college classes and it shows through the amount of work we receive daily. It can be a lot of pressure and at times stressful but I am grateful that I can go through this experience to prepare me for college.

I would definitely recommend this school. The academics here are far above other high schools in the district. The curriculum is very rigorous, and you have to study a lot but will pay off when you leave for college.

I am currently a 2016 student. The principal does not care I repeat does not care about the students. She only cares about the test scores and keeping the school's reputation up. She even canceled a student's doctor appt; to keep her in testing for the dc cas 2013-2014.

The academic program is very rigorous which provides college preparedness. Banneker is a wonder school for those that want more out of education. The staff is awesome and really help the students when they are needing additional assistance.
