West is a true gem. My child has thrived here for the last 4 years. School has a strong sense community, great teachers, and a awesome administration. One of the top K-8 Education Campuses in DC.

The administration office in our school has a heavy presence. When you walk in the first thing you'll see is either the principal or one of the assistant principals standing ready to greet you. My school is very strict and almost every problem is handled by the administration itself rather than the teacher settling issues right on the spot.I say that the administration in my shool is okay because they sometimes put the integrity and prestige of the school before the well being of the student. If a student is struggling sometimes they're too quick to throw them out and not work with them. They also show favoritism to some students

JOHN LEWIS ELEMENTARY is an amazing experience. It's a beautiful new building with a great team of teachers and administrators. Heavily underrated school on this site, and they have the name listed incorrectly!
