Templeton is a small school where big things happen. It is diverse and ecclectic while ensuing that ALL students find a place. Each child is embraced for their differences and they are never made to feel out of place. Learning is hands on as well as beyond the classroom walls. This is a great model for high schools who are often "bored". I wish there was more teachers of color c but that hasn't affected my child's ability to learn. It is very safe. You need to be buzzed in. All students ts have an electronic key. Goand visit. There are some remarkable things happening and some pretty remarkable people making it so. The 1 week break in between terms is great as it allows for vacation planning. My favorite feature is the longer school day until 4:30 p.m. . The rest of the city's school finish at 3:30.. The longer day leads to fewer teens hanging out at the same time. HS students have off campus lunch privileges. I think that should be earned for 9th graders or offered in 2nd term

Attending this school It can be some what overwhelming.. with exhibition night, students yelling, kids on their phone during class and off task and this can impact how motivated the teacher is to teach. This can impact the students ready to learn and want a challenge but they have to suffer because of kids who do under the bare minimum. I've been at this school since 9th grade and it seems like they are just going with the flow at this school as the years go on.. This school is lacking a lot of things. It's advertised on the website and instagram but when reality hits and you walk into that school it's a huge turn.. The schools academics aren't terrible but it could be more challenging. overall I would not recommend this school.

Supporting environment. My son is a non-traditional learner and thus school has been a great fit for him. Love the expeditionary and group project learning.
