One of the top performing schools in not only the Union County public school system but the state as a whole, Rea View Elementary School serves approximately 600 students in kindergarten through fifth grade. The school, located in the western part of Weddington, opened in 2007; faculty includes 30 classroom teachers as well as numerous specialty staff and assistants in a modern facility. Unique features of the 55-acre campus include a state-of-the-art computer lab and wi-fi throughout campus, and separate playgrounds for k-2 and 3-5 grades. An active Parent-Teacher Organization (PTO) raises substantial funds for enhanced instructional and extracurricular materials. The school follows the state’s common core curriculum. In addition, students receive weekly instruction in art, French, music, and physical education. The student to teacher ratio is 15:1, higher than state and local averages. The school receives high marks from students and parents alike and has been ranked as having the third and fourth best reading and math scores in the entire state. Rea View Elementary’s mascot is Rocky the Red Wolf, chosen by students because red wolves are known for being smart, sociable, and working and playing together – fitting attributes for a high performance school.

My children entered Rea View in the middle of the school year, in the middle of a pandemic. They were received with open arms and made to feel like part of the class immediately. The work load was rigorous without being too much, both classroom teachers communicated weekly, one daily via the agenda....

I'm really surprised about the previous comment. Our daughter and son have both attended RVES. We could not have asked for a better experience.
