Boys basketball coach is a petulant child: snake oil salesman. His teams have 0 discipline. I have seen coaches and recruit parents try to FIGHT REFS. All the regraded recruits leave once they see how bad the coaching is. The coach has to be reminded that they can't go 7 days in a row, and he doesn't show up when he has Sun 5-7 practices. The mismanagement of games (TO for the OTHER team), and failure to hold any kids accountable is atrocious: this was in his "glory days" of deep playoff runs with 30+ TOs all season long, and 3v0 giveaways against Chaminade in the Championship. 2 of his recruits decided not to play one day, no uniforms brought to an away game, no problem. 0 development comes within the program. Every year an entire JV team disappears. J Powell individually trained my son, who was never given real meaningful mins in 3 years: only JP kid benched. He was a high D2 prospect based upon showcases. So he changed sports"you are the fastest most athletic kid on the lax field."

This high school is good if you want a community and a safe environment. There are many clubs and often colleges or universities come visit during lunch so you can meet with them. Its a great school with a good support system in place.

I did not know anything about SJB except a friend telling me that one of her doctors told her SJB was the best thing he did for his two sons. My daughter shadowed SJB and two other schools and she immediately chose SJB. My daughter made the best decision. SJB is excellent academically and there are...
