I haven't been at this school for that long and it is only my second year here at HCSS but I would like to say this school does not care about your safety and they choose sides very often, to add on the school lunch is very very disgusting and not edible and this school is full of bullies it doesn't matter what grade your in your mostly to get bullied before you get any friends or enjoy the fun things you get to do with your friends. Borelli is a weirdo and doesn't care about anything but himself but the good thing I can say about this school is that they definitely care about your grades and help you get them up, they let everything big slide, and when it comes to small things like rolling your eyes they'll send you to asr or call home and when you get sent to asr they make you write 2 essays with 300 words on both and they make you choose 4 sat practice words and write 4 sentences for each word you choose and they think that its gonna help us learn our lesson. I don't recommend hcss

This is my last year at Hampden Charter School of Science West, I'd say that the school does a good job at giving college prep with the AP classes, the cubs (science olympiad, robotics, etc), and just the work in which they serve. I'm currently in the Honors class for the eighth grade and I'm getting work from the 9th and 10th grades, I understand most of it and I find that the teachers do a good job at helping me with what I don't understand. The school does not do a good job of safety though, a student brought a knife in last year and barely anything was done, and another brought a BB gun. The metal detectors don't detect much of anything if not for school supplies, I had a friend test it. The drama and bullying here are very prominent in the culture. I've seen sexism happen within the administration in itself, and I've seen people get mass-hated after rumours. The students here aren't friendly and I wouldn't recommend this school.

Teachers work very hard here. Students receive a college-prep education. School offers AP Capstone diploma with more than 10 AP courses offered.

HORRIBLE my child wanted to harm themselves because of the kids and the teachers would not recommend people are rude and disrespectful here they let everything slide! Never bring your kids here!

Character Schools are the best my husband graduated from a character school and we are proud of are kids going to the character school are family are happy because are kids are the next generation to go to the character school.

This school allows bullying. The teachers do nothing then the director or Dean call you after you email them repeatedly and they basically accuse your child of lying and do absolutely nothing about the problem. They investigate without asking the child! So ridiculous The administration here is a jok...
