i'd say my senior year i saw the most change within my school system. We lost lots of teachers and had many classes with no teacher to teach it. We had to resort to online courses for classes like my AP Stats. This was just unheard of and I had very little hope of learning things in this class. Just too many classes with unprepared teachers.

Overall, the school wasn't too bad. The teachers were caring and put in effort to teach and help students who fell behind. The food wasn't the best, but that's probably my only real complaint.

My high school experience here was pretty bad. Kids are racists and the teachers cannot teach. I have a hard time trying to convince the staff that my education shouldn't just be them doing the lazy work because they want their next paycheck.

I'm a Hispanic parent of 2 Whiting High school students and one graduate. Not once have my kids or I experienced any form of belittle or racism. On the contrary we were very well accepted when we arrived in 2008. I have a son with a learning disability and I have his teachers cell phone numbers inca...

Whiting High School is FANTASTIC learning environment! Everyone has a chance for success. Our teachers take extra time if we don't understand something. Our classes are academically challenging. We have a lot of extra curricular and art programs. Our school is small and sweet.

I was so disappointed to see such bad reviews. My child attended a private school for 7 years in Whiting and when we gave Portage (we live there) middle schools a chance, I knew I had to put my son back into a small school environment. We are Hispanic and have NEVER been discriminated in any way. I...
