Such a great little school with so much to offer! It's the kind of place you have to see in person! My family has graduated from Gilbert for generations and it really is a wonderful place to learn and grow.

In my opinion as an international student first when I came here is the welcoming of the school. The people around the school made me feel like I am home. The teachers were friendly and really good in how to explain school work or homework. School's matter was new every year and schedule was easy too. School's activities for international students were very interested. The school environment was one of the big advantages that TGS have had. My advice for the international students is they should choose The Gilbert School to apply because they are one of the best in Connecticut.

The Gilbert school looks the other way when students are being bullied or harassed and there is no extreme punishment when bullying is being involved. The Gilbert School is a semi private school that has a student exchange program. It is wonderful to bring a different culture to our community so that the students have the chance share their education with others from abroad. They offer Latin and mandarin to middle schoolers. All of the teachers really care and take their jobs seriously. My son is so happy at this school. Definitely a bright light in Winsted.
