My experience has been a roller coaster of emotions. Walking into high school was definitely an adjustment with being in a new environment with many people you've never met. I appreciate all the faculty that have guided me and made my experience better.

Most members of admin are not very involved in the school. Both teachers and students have had difficulty with them. There are some school rules that admin are strict about, which are typically non-issues, and others that they're very strict of.

Another school that functions more like a prison than a school. Kids aren’t even allowed to use the bathrooms while in class. Minimal breaks for food and exercise. I regret sending my child here.

I'm a current student at Atkins, and I wouldn't recommend it. Because at Atkins it's hard to feel happy, heard, and overall like you can express yourself. I have bad experiences with SMOD my own parents are stressed with the strict code, because my parents cannot buy new clothes every time they make...

Atkins is a great STEM magnet school! They are consistently top rated in all areas of academics when compared to all of the other high schools in Forsyth county.
