The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Fine. Felt safe for the most part. Had fun experiences, and more. Failed lit a lot but my teachers were willing to help me every step of the way. Even when I had to go to summer school to make up that specific credit.

I transferred in to this high school in the Cherokee county school district halfway through my high school years. Although I was put in the wrong class levels at first, I was later put in the correct levels after 1-2 weeks. The counselors and some teachers made my high school experience very wonderful, and at the end of the day I am happy with what I was able to accomplish at the school.

Etowah High School was an interesting experience for me. Like any school, I had several bad teachers and several excellent teachers. Some teachers were better at preparing me for my ap tests and some weren't so good with that preparation. The courses I took were rigorous but also challenging. I also earned excellent grades which kept me in those classes. Overall, I would give Etowah High School a 3.75 out of 5 due to the many different interactions and courses I took.

This school failed my kids. They didn't enforce or follow through with my sons 504 plan. If your child needs extra help- go far away from this place. They will get left behind. They only care about the rich academically blessed towne lake kids.

My son entered 9th grade last year and it was his best school year ever. Teachers held him accountable but contacted me if there was a disconnect. We had a new algebra teacher who was not ready in Aug. 1 meeting with admin and she had the support and resources a brand new teacher needs. My son, the...
