Located at 1650 Godfrey Avenue SW in Wyoming, Michigan, on the grounds of the Holy Name of Jesus parish, San Juan Diego Academy is a private, non-profit Catholic school serving kindergarten through eighth grade and was established in 2010. The school focuses on Latino customs and values, and celebrates its culture.
San Juan Diego Academy makes Catholic education available to everyone who is interested with support from other parishes in the Wyoming area and by assuring low-income families pay no more than 5 percent of their income in tuition.
At San Juan Diego Academy, students are encouraged to succeed in school and continue on to college. Also encouraged are competitive sports like soccer, basketball and volleyball, and extracurricular activities like Spanish club, robotics, dance, Battle of the Books, spelling bees, and science fairs.
In recent years, enrollment at San Juan Diego Academy has increased and now serves more than 170 students, with a student-teacher ratio of twelve to one.
The curriculum at San Juan Academy follows the standards designed by the International Society for Technology in Education. These standards are guiding principles for students and teachers, allowing them to achieve their learning goals while using modern technology.
In partnership with the Wyoming community, San Juan Diego Academy is dedicated to educating, mentoring, and inspiring Latino Children in the Grand Rapids area to succeed in school while living their Catholic faith.
