Faith-based instruction, rich traditions and a welcoming community are principles that have guided St. Joseph School for over a century. This private Catholic elementary school serves prekindergarten through 6th grade and educates over 250 children every year located in East York, Pennsylvania. The academic environment continues to be part of the reason why hundreds of residents from nearly a dozen surrounding districts choose St. Joseph School for some of the most important years of their children’s education.
The school has one of the largest student bodies of Pennsylvania private schools, yet still maintains a healthy student-to-teacher ratio of 14-to-1. Beyond the core curriculum of language arts, mathematics, science and social studies, students gain advantages from attending classes in other specialties such as Spanish or American Sign Language.
Students at St. Joseph School can participate in several sports, including basketball, baseball, soccer, cheerleading and softball. Extracurriculars include the Boys and Girls Scouts, choir and band, operate through United Parishes and round out the comprehensive educational experience students receive at St. Joseph School.
The elementary school also puts community at the center, giving students numerous opportunities to serve each other and their community at large through clothing, food drives and other service projects throughout the school year.

I enrolled my kids into St Joe's with great expectation. Unfortunately, they did come close to meeting them. The leadership at this school is awful.
