I have had an overall amazing time at WIHI. The academics are at a much higher level that most high schools and it really let's you feel prepared to be graduating. They are great at giving support and forming good relationships with students. I would definitely appreciate more diversity among staff especially considering the student body is very divers.

It's a very good school however it does present a lot of challenging work to its student's that can be hard to manage if they don't reach out for support.

I don't think I truly realized how much I have learned at WIHI until I was about two months into my senior year. If you take advantage of the opportunities and/or make the most of the projects and assignments, the academics here are stellar. The teachers are kind and open, and they definitely want you to succeed (I used to get frustrated with some of the difficult classes and harsh-grading teachers, but in hindsight, those classes have pushed me to develop the best studying habits and critical thinking skills). The school does also try to place an emphasis on the desires of the students (in terms of social wellbeing, mental health, and academic opportunities). I definitely feel like I have had a good experience here – I have made some really good friends, I have learned a lot, and I feel pretty prepared to enter the real world.

What we find most compelling about WIHI includes (1) the combination of rigorous academics without sacrificing art/music, (2) the emphasis on project-based learning, (3) the rich diversity, which is supported by curricular aims and school vaiues, (4) the interdisciplinary connections between classes...

Both of my daughters graduated from WIHI, and the younger one went to the Middle Academy as well. They are two very different people and types of learners, and I was fortunate enough to watch both of them blossom, thrive, and go on to successful college experiences based on the incredible foundation...

Absolutely fantastic. The school is based on a brave and bold vision and it is executed with dedication by the administrators and staff and students themselves as a team who understand that ideals are not reality but they are still worth striving for in this world.
