Why Live in Sims

Once open countryside, Sims, North Carolina is growing. The community has seen much residential development since the early 2000s, and often attracts buyers prices out of nearby Rocky Mount and Raleigh, both under an hour away. A range of subdivisions can accommodate different budgets and lifestyles, with most home prices falling from the low $100,000s to the low $600,000s. Crystal Lake Commons, the first gated community in Wilson County, and Clearwater, located on Buckhorn Reservoir, are two examples of subdivisions here. The highly rated Wilson County Schools district serves families in Sims, and there are many things to do in town. Two community centers serve Sims, and Sims Community Park is a local go-to, often hosting events and seasonal celebrations. Shopping and dining, however, require a drive. You can reach Wilson in about 12 miles, where you will find big-box shopping, grocery stores, restaurants, pharmacies and a hospital. Rocky Mount, with entertainment and recreation, and Raleigh, with Raleigh-Durham International Airport, bring more amenities and necessities. And with easy access to roads like U.S. Route 264, Interstate 95 and Interstate 795, navigating the region is a breeze.
