Island getaways, nature preserves and boating excursions
There is no shortage of hidden coves, island getaways or area wildlife to explore. At Fred Held South Pasadena Habitat, they can find a peaceful trail by the water or sit on a park bench to watch the dolphins. At Maynard A. Duryea Bay View Park, stroll down another bayside path, climb the monkey bars on the playground or serve up an ace at the tennis courts.
For a way to get around or to have maritime fun, the Pasadena Marina is a great place to dock the boat or set sail on open waters. Ferry rides and easy drives
To get across town, the SunRunner transit system runs throughout the St. Petersburg area, reaching the business districts, the downtown and St. Pete Beach. The Cross Bay Ferry carries passengers from South Pasadena to the islands daily. Residents can take Route 693 across the water to St. Pete Beach or north toward Clearwater. Turning right onto Highway 19 takes traffic east to downtown and connects to Interstate 275 toward Tampa.
Just over the bridge from South Pasadena is St. Pete beach with beautiful white sand.
Public bus stations are all around South Pasadena and will help you get all around St. Pete.
