The residential Thomas Street neighborhood of Tupelo is not the city’s center, but its location near West Main Street provides access to all of its downtown happenings. At the same time, the community is surrounded by green spaces and local restaurants and is zoned for highly rated schools. The neighborhood is also priced lower than some of its surrounding communities. “You’re close to everything in Tupelo,” says Ricky Murphy, a Realtor with TM Realtors. “It’s an older part of town that has been kept up. Investment properties are also available, usually from $75,000 to $150,000. Neighborhood streets often have branching cul-de-sacs and are lined by oak trees. Kindergarten through second grade students can attend Thomas Street Elementary School, which has an A-minus Niche grade.
