Education is key in the village

The village provides students with access to a quality education through public institutions. Lakewood Elementary School and Randall Consolidated School both offer pre-kindergarten through eighth-grade curricula, each earning an overall Niche score of a B and B-minus respectively. Wilmot Union High School also earns an overall Niche score of a B, with teachers, academics and clubs/activities receiving the highest accolades. The school has a student-teacher ratio of 14 to 1.

There are restaurants and eateries at the edges of both lakes; however, most of the food spots are near Lake Mary, making it a more comprehensive dining hub. The town center is at the juncture of East Main Street and North Lake and South Lake Avenues. In addition to views of the water, residents have their choice of breakfast, lunch and dinner offerings.
