Residents looking into the quiet and private neighborhood of Union can find anything from small ranches to larger estates, all that sit on larger plots of land in comparison to neighborhoods closer to the city. Children attend Boone County Schools, which are well-regarded in the area. One can’t talk about Union without talking about its proximity to Big Bone Lick State Historic Site and Boone County Arboretum, both of which give residents immense space to take in nature.

Students attend Boone County Schools
As for education, Boone County Schools has 16 elementary, six middle, and seven high schools, including three technical education and college preparatory institutions. Depending on where residents fall in the county dictates where kids go to school. For example, students may start at Longbranch Elementary School, which earned an A grade from Niche. From there, they would move on to Ballyshannon Middle School, which received an A-minus from Niche. In ninth grade, students would head to Randall K. Cooper High School, which also earned an A-minus grade from Niche. The principal at Randall K. Cooper High sends a weekly newsletter to parents to keep them informed of everything happening at the school. As for private school options, residents may send their children to Saint Timothy Catholic School, which serves kindergarten through eighth grade.

Less than 25 miles from Downtown Cincinnati
For those with wanderlust, Union offers plenty of ways to travel. Interstate 71 runs on the eastern border of the neighborhood and provides residents easy access to Downtown Cincinnati. Commuters looking to make the trip into Downtown Cincinnati are looking at a 22-mile drive. “It’s so conveniently located that you can get to Lexington in an hour. You can be to Louisville in an hour and 15 minutes, so it lets you explore the rest of the state,” says Teresa Gillum, a Realtor with the My Home Team of Keller Williams Realty. For those looking to go further than those places, Northern Kentucky/Cincinnati International Airport is a 14-mile drive north. For medical attention, St. Elizabeth Florence Hospital is a 7-mile drive.

Get on the Ohio River from Boone’s Landing Marina

City of Union events
The City of Union puts on various community events throughout the year. Every Easter the city puts on an Easter Egg Hunt for children ages six to 12. In the fall, the city puts on its Bourbon in the Bluegrass event, where residents can enjoy a variety of fall activities, including, of course, Bourbon.
