Unity is a neighborhood located near the historic Black Triangle in Waterloo. Mid-century, single-family homes line the streets of Unity, with an array of architectural designs including ranch-style homes, Colonial Revival and American Foursquare properties. Sidewalks line some of the streets and are shaded by tall trees. Residents often use U.S. Route 63 to get around and the area is primarily car-dependent, due to the lack of public transit and bike lanes. Downtown Waterloo is a short drive away and offers shopping, dining and entertainment options. Popular dining spots include Screaming Eagle American Bar and Grill, Morg's and Jameson's. The Iowa neighborhood also has a number of churches that participate in community activities.
