A central Florida boomtown, the population of the unincorporated community of Wimauma has more than doubled since 2010. Situated about 30 miles southeast of Tampa, this growing community is under pressure to meet the infrastructure needs of the population. Lagoon with a swim-up bar, state park

Like most of Florida, Wimauma is a great place to enjoy the outdoors, with many places to play in the sunshine. With five acres of crystal-clear blue waters and surrounded by sand, the Southshore Bay Lagoon is a community highlight. There are usually food trucks outside the venue to indulge at after working up an appetite swimming. The river flows nearly five miles through 11 unique natural communities within the park. The park features one of Florida’s premier hiking trail – a six-mile stacked loop located in the wilderness area in the north half of the park.
