West End Homes for Sale

West End is a riverside neighborhood along the Savannah River in Augusta. It offers walking trails, public parks and plenty of things to do outdoors. Homes here are mainly single-story houses from the early 20th century on compact lots, often with small porches, hardwood floors and beam board ceilings. Many have seen renovations recently, like updated kitchens, new flooring and refreshed systems. The Richmond County School System serves the neighborhood and offers school choice programs and competitive magnet options, while nearby private schools like Westminster Schools of Augusta and Episcopal Day School have strong reputations. Outdoor recreation centers on the Augusta Canal National Heritage Area, where a wide towpath supports walking, cycling and running, and the Augusta Discovery Center, which is housed in a former textile mill and features exhibits and guided boat tours. The paved River Levee Trail runs about 2 miles along the water, and Lake Olmstead Park adds a disc golf course, walking track and boat ramps. Washington Road, a major commercial corridor, runs through West End, putting grocery stores such as Publix and Kroger within a short drive. Augusta Transit buses serve the neighborhood, and the Augusta Transit Transfer Center is located here.
