Redleaf blends luxury and more affordable housing options
Cobalt blue skies, open spaces and snow-capped mountain vistas defines the view in Redleaf. Bald eagle sightings are common here. This small neighborhood of 491 homes is set amid parks and scenic trails. Redleaf was one of the area’s first neighborhoods to build a community that combined a mix of luxury and affordable housing with landscaping that includes trees, rocks and parks. “One of the best things about Redleaf is that it is considered a very well-kept, upscale neighborhood with affordable homes,” says Ashley Bremmer, a Realtor with Century 21 Signature Realty.
Traditional homes in varied styles from craftsman to colonial
“The homes in Redleaf are traditional, single-family homes of 2,000 to 4,000 square feet, with attached garages and off-street parking,” notes Bremmer. This is no cookie-cutter neighborhood. Several types of homes such as craftsman, colonial, modern prairie and rustic mountain styles are here. Expect to pay between $650,000 for a three-bedroom craftsman to more than $1.1 million for a large mountain rustic home. It’s the type of neighborhood where kids ride their bikes and walkers and runners wave to one another as they pass.
Redleaf schools have strong academics and arts programs
The public schools in the area are very good. Coyote Ridge Elementary School has 404 students in kindergarten through fifth grade with a student-teacher ratio of 18 to 1. Coyote Ridge has a B-plus rating from Niche. Westlake Middle School has a student body of 967 and a B-plus rating. Legacy High School has an A-minus rating. It also has a notable choral program. The school’s marching band has won either first or second place at state competitions for the past 16 years.
Outdoor fun includes climbing rocks, dog parks and trails
When it’s time to relax or play, the great outdoors is always beckoning, even for the youngest members of the community. Tunnels Park runs through the middle of the neighborhood. This unique green area includes sculpted rocks, tunnels and trees that children are encouraged to explore and climb on. Redleaf overlooks Broomfield Commons, which includes open spaces, walking trails, a dog park, sports fields and playgrounds. Broadlands Golf Course is an 18-hole public course that bills itself as friendly but difficult. When the weather isn’t conducive to outside activities, the nearby Paul Derda Recreation Center has an indoor playground and an aquatic park with slides, a lazy river and a lap pool, all at a comfortable 88 degrees. It also has two gymnastics courts and workout facilities. The recreation center is within easy walking distance of the neighborhood.
Dining options range from pizza to modern European fare
Not only is the great outdoors right at hand, but the neighborhood is also close to several shopping centers. King Soopers grocery store is nearby. So are Target, Walmart and other big box stores. Hungry? Whether you just want to grab a quick bite, or you are planning a special night out, there are plenty of options. Original Pizza is the oldest and best restaurant in Broomfield Heights. Vinca Restaurant offers modern European fare and an extended wine list. When gathering with friends or family, Realtor Bremmer says, “North Side Tavern is a cool little gem. It’s not easy to find, but those in the know, go.” The restaurant serves traditional American fare and is a local favorite. It’s a great place to end your day in Redleaf.
Art in Public Places features diverse artists and sculptures
Broomfield County also has a thriving arts program. The Broomfield Art in Public Places project has erected more than 70 pieces of artwork and sculptures created by a slate of diverse artists throughout the city and country of Broomfield. Maps and explanations of the sculptures can be downloaded, and they can all be viewed in an easy mile-and-a-half stroll around the area.
Rural feel with urban convenience between Denver and Boulder
Many of the homes in Redleaf overlook large common areas and green spaces. But don’t let the rural landscape fool you. The community is within just a mile or so of shopping centers and quick access to the Northwest Corridor highways. Redleaf is right between Denver and Boulder. With both urban centers less than 20 miles away, travel to either for work or nightlife is under 30 minutes.
