Situated on 147th Street between Beach and Sanford Avenues, GRAND 147 is on a quiet side street just blocks from Downtown Flushing. The seven-story building finds itself in good company with low-rise residential architecture, including wood-framed single-family homes, duplexes and triplexes with gated driveways and brick-clad apartment complexes. Upon first glance, the structure looks as contemporary as it is, with a design featuring an interplay of grey stucco and red brick punctuated by glass-railed balconies and window walls. Recently completed in 2022, the new condominium offers brand-new units starting at $500,000, with basic amenities and no common charges.
Previously unoccupied units with extra storage space
Throughout the residences, the main room features an open living area with floor-to-ceiling windows and a layered, recessed ceiling design. Facing the living room, the open kitchens have grey lacquered cabinetry, quartz counters and the latest stainless appliances. The design features soundproofed tiles throughout residences. For storage, the layouts are outfitted with ample, deep closets: walk-in closets in foyers and primary bedrooms, and sliding doors in additional bedrooms. (Some units have an extra linen closet, too.) Apartments come with a closet primed for a washer/dryer (with the special hook-up) and heating/cooling wall units in each room. Plus, most units have private balconies.
54 units across seven stories range from one- to two-bedrooms. The building was completed at the end of 2022, so the apartments are brand new (no resales yet). One-bedrooms range between 500 and 650 square feet; the last sale closed at $493,000 in August 2024. Two-bedrooms range between 800 and 950 square feet; the latest transaction was for $799,000 in October 2023.
Limited amenities include a parking garage
GRAND 147 is an elevator building with part-time maintenance staff. The condo is outfitted with a digital doorman system, which manages keyless entry, guest access and package delivery to the mailroom in the vestibule. For added security, 24-hour cameras surround the perimeter and inside the building. There is parking in the basement garage, which offers indoor spaces at a competitive monthly rate. Also, on the lower level, residents can find bike storage. And because GRAND 147 is a new development, the common areas are in fantastic condition.
Asian food galore at specialized supermarkets, food trucks and restaurants
Also known as the Chinatown of Queens, one cannot mention Flushing without bringing up the plethora of Asian restaurants, markets and food trucks; some highlights include the dipping sauces at Happy Lamb Hot Pot, milk tea at Sing Choi Kee and the seafood selection at Jmart. Besides all the vendors in the food hall at the new shopping mall, Tangram, there are diverse shops, including Nana Press On Nails, MINISO and Angry Birds Cafe. Residents can shop for groceries at nearby markets such as Stop & Shop, H Mart, and Target Grocery. Meanwhile, Flushing Meadows Corona Park offers 900 acres of greenspace with barbeque areas, biking and hiking trails, an 18-hole golf course, a recreation center with an Olympic-sized lap pool and tennis court; the grounds are also home to 75 species of animals from the Americas at the Queens Zoo. Nearby, Citi Field hosts baseball games of the home team, The Mets. NewYork-Presbyterian, the major Queens hospital, is near the park, adjacent to Queens Botanical Gardens.
Near the 7 train and the LIRR
The nearest subway stop, Flushing–Main Street station, is just under a mile away; it provides access to the 7 train. Meanwhile, just around the corner, the LIRR station offers express transfer to Grand Central Terminal in approximately 20 minutes. Major thoroughfares — Grand Central Parkway, I-495 and Van Wyck Expressway — make getting around Queens to Manhattan and Brooklyn manageable.

The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.
