On the surface, Rancho Carrillo might look like any Carlsbad suburb, but this planned community was built to be slightly different than the rest. This property was once Leo Carrillo's ranch, a 1950s Hollywood star. In the 2000s, it was developed into the community that stands today. “It has this cool Spanish flair because it was an actual working ranch,” says Bryan Devore, leader of Devore Realty Group with Berkshire Hathaway. The remainder of Carrillo’s ranch, along with its live peacocks, is now the community’s central outdoor space. Spanish-inspired architecture influences the entire streetscape and amenities like the community pool.
