Colonial Revivals and European-inspired architecture can cost more

The community’s home designs include Colonial Revival, Georgian Revival, New Traditional and European-influenced mansions. Townhomes are also available. Townhomes cost between $150,000 and $300,000. Standard single-family homes range between $500,000 and $900,000. However, some gated and custom-built properties can run between $1 million and $5 million. “Historically, inventory is pretty limited with only a handful of listings at a time,” says Scott Russo, a broker with The McDevitt Agency, who has over two decades of experience. “So, you would need to be quick to jump on the right opportunity when it presents itself.”

Russo says that Cameron Wood is “in the same price band” as surrounding neighborhoods such as Park Crossing or Beverly Wood. However, Quail Hollow tends to be a little more expensive he says. Russo says that HOAs oversee some housing. “[Fees are] palatable and what is expected by the buying audience for a community of this stature,” says Russo.

Residences are situated on winding streets and cul-de-sacs, with larger-than-average lots and oak trees accenting lawns. Gated subdivisions are scattered throughout, while townhomes and apartments are on the southern edge of the area.

Private recreation clubs and public greenways are core outdoor attract

The Cameron Wood Swim & Racquet Club has tennis and pickleball courts, two pools and a renovated clubhouse. Residents are eligible to join the private club, but an initiation fee and annual dues are required. Recreational spots nearby include the 4-mile McMullen Creek Greenway, featuring a path through the forest along McMullen Creek. The Little Sugar Creek Greenway is a paved trail that connects to Uptown. The private 7,600-yard Quail Hollow Club borders the area and hosts the PGA Tour’s Truist Championship, while occasionally hosting a major tournament. Russo says events at the course do cause some traffic, with visitors tending to park within Cameron Wood. Other private courses close by include Carmel Country Club and TPC Piper Glen.
