Lookout Valley, 7 miles from Chattanooga, offers natural attractions close to urban amenities. The area is mainly residential and industrial, between Racoon Mountain and Lookout Mountain. “If you’re looking at moving to the greater Chattanooga area,” says Garett Cox, a Realtor with Crye-Leike Real Estate Services. “It’s a very tight-knit community feel, but you’re literally five minutes away from Downtown.” A notable landmark in the area, Lookout Mountain is the location of a Union victory during the Civil War and home to the tallest underground waterfall. While these natural attractions are abundant in the area, Lookout Valley also has access to shopping and quick-service dining off Route 41. “This is a hot growing area,” says Mike Lane, a Realtor for The Robinson Team at Keller Williams for 18 years and resident of Lookout Mountain. “There will be lots of expansion and retail opportunities in the area over the next ten years.” The Lookouts, a minor-league baseball team, have plans to build a stadium in the area.

Reflection Riding and Racoon Mountain Caverns
Exploring nearby Lookout Mountain is for all ages. The mountain features kiddie trails and a Sunset Rock National Park Climbing Crag for those looking to test their ropes in the wild. “There are a lot of outside activities to do,” says Cox. “Ruby Falls is a big attraction and Rock City.” Residents may take a glass elevator 260 feet into Lookout Mountain to visit Ruby Falls, one of the tallest and deepest underground waterfalls in the United States. Atop the mountain is Rock City, featuring panoramic views of seven states and a collection of caverns. Visitors can go underground for a tour through the Racoon Mountain Caverns to see natural rock formations. Reflection Riding Arboretum and Nature Center aims to educate visitors on the local flora and fauna.

Reflection Riding and Fairyland Cavern
