People tend to stay in Rancho del Rey
Chula Vista’s Rancho del Rey neighborhood sits about 10 miles from the beach, the border and downtown San Diego. Families flocked to the neighborhood during its development in the 1980s and 90s, though it now has a multigenerational feel. “There are people living there that I grew up there with. Now their kids are attending the elementary schools they attended,” says Jose Hernandez, who was raised in the neighborhood and still works locally as a real estate agent with Coldwell Banker West. He says that inventory is limited here, a reflection of the neighborhood’s desirability. “There are so many people that have stayed there for such a long time. They don’t leave very much.”
