White Rock Hills
Ranch-style and new-traditional homes on tree-shaded streets
White Rock Hills is an established neighborhood with many homes built in the 1960s. These are primarily ranch-style houses that have been renovated to include new roofs, refinished floors and updated bathrooms. The natural beauty of White Rock Lake and the Dallas Arboretum extends to White Rock Hills, where mature shade trees line the neighborhood streets and front lawns burst with bright shades of green during the spring and summer. Dye says she frequently sees residents walking through the neighborhood, and the sidewalks make it easy to get around. Ranch-style homes have sold for between $130,000 and $675,000. "It is an excellent, first-time homebuyer neighborhood," says Summer Graham, a Realtor with Compass. "It's very affordable."Students within the Dallas Independent School District

Half of the neighborhood starts at Bayles Elementary for pre-kindergarten through fifth grade, while the other half starts at S.S. Conner Elementary. Bayles Elementary is graded a B-minus by Niche, while S.S. Conner Elementary earns a B. From there, students may move on to W.H. Gaston Middle School, which earns a C. In ninth grade, students attend B-graded Bryan Adams High, which has been around since 1957 and was, at one point, one of the largest high schools in the Dallas area. Today, the school is transitioning to a leadership academy to develop students into confident and empathetic leaders who can solve the problems of the future. As for private options, Bishop Lynch High is nearby and earns an A-plus mark from Niche.DART bus access from stops along Ferguson Road
