A quiet suburb, Glenarden combines a charming but vibrant community, captivating entertainment and highly coveted amenities. This Prince George County suburb is favored for its proximity to parks, the capital city and a bustling shopping district.

Glenarden consists of single-family, midcentury moderns, split-levels, colonials, classic bungalows, rambler-style houses and town houses. The neighborhood blends a mix of older and newer homes, many built in the 1960s and others built in the mid-2000s, ranging from $320,000 to $860,000. The median price for a single-family home is $414,000. Homes in the median price range are predominantly in the Glenarden Heights subdivision, and town houses can be found in the Glenarden Forest subdivision and Woodmore Towne Centre, which offers access to a clubhouse, fitness center and outdoor pool. Most homes have multi-car garages and beautifully landscaped yards. And by hopping on Interstate 495, Maryland Route 202 or the New Carrollton Metro just two miles away, you can easily get to Washington, D.C. in 11 miles and Greater Landover in 3 miles.

Served by Prince George County Public Schools, local students attend Ardmore Elementary, Ernest Everett Just Middle School and Charles Herbert Flowers High School. Ardmore Elementary earned an overall C from Niche, and the middle school received a C-minus. The elementary school boasts a science and engineering program for students and arts integration enrichment initiatives. Earning a B-minus from Niche, Charles Herbert is also ranked the No. 136 best high school for STEM in Maryland. A magnet school, Charles Herbert offers 18 science laboratories, forensics and creative arts clubs and holds titles in football.

Not only is the neighborhood near schools, but a variety of parks are within walking distance. At Woodmore Towne Centre Park, you can play a pickup football game on their multi-purpose turf field, hike a paved trail and let the kids play. And at H.P. Johnson Park, you can work on your tennis swing, shoot hoops or enjoy a picnic in the open green space. And at the 20,000-square-foot Prince George Sports & Learning Complex, there are sports facilities and classes for all. Play a round of disc golf, work up a sweat in the fitness center or up your football game on the massive multi-purpose field.
Woodmore Towne Centre off Ruby Lockhart Boulevard is a one-stop-shop for dining, entertainment and plenty of retail. Anchored by Costco and Wegman’s, the center also offers Best Buy, Nordstrom’s, and Kobe Steakhouse. Or step back in time here at Silver Diner to play a tune on the jukebox while you enjoy a milkshake and classic comfort food. At Horace & Dickies Seafood of Glenarden, make sure you get their famous fish sandwich or the catfish platter. One of the neighborhood's biggest draws is its proximity to FedEx Field. Just a mile away, the massive stadium is home to the Washington Commanders, the professional football team and some of the area’s biggest concerts. Also nearby is the Theresa Banks Memorial Aquatic Center, where you can swim laps in the indoor pool, soak in the spa or take a water fitness class.

An active community, the city hosts a variety of events to engage its residents, from cancer awareness fundraisers, trunk or treats for kids and Glenarden Community Day, an annual neighborhood celebration with food, live music and face painting. There’s also a community center at Woodmore Towne Center. The Boys and Girls Club of Glenarden also plays a vital role in keeping local children engaged, operating a youth sports club for over 80 years.
