Family-owned Lavender Wynde Farm sells essential oils, extractions, tinctures and infusions from their lavender. For a more traditional flower shop, Rabbit’s Nest Florist has you covered. It has provided the community with bouquets, arrangements and gifts since 1986. When it's mealtime, residents have a few local spots to choose from. Turkey’s Barbeque and RD’s Smokehouse Barbeque are great options for those craving pulled pork, brisket or fall-off-the-bone ribs. Johnny Gryll’s serves up Southern staples like fried chicken and shrimp. When locals wish to taste more international flavors, 5A’s Restaurant serves up Greek and Mediterranean fare. LJz Backyard Bayou is off the beaten path, but its Cajun offerings and inviting front porch are worth the effort it takes to find it.

High marks for Madison County Schools
Endeavor Elementary teaches local children from kindergarten to fifth grade and offers extracurricular activities such as chess, robotics and drama clubs. Harvest Elementary, home of the Huskies, is another school in the area. Here, kids can participate in dance club, Girls on the Run and broadcast journalism. Teenagers attend Sparkman High School, which opened in 1958 and was named after senator John Jackson Sparkman. The school moved to its current location in 1997, and its old building was turned into Sparkman Middle School. Across the street is Sparkman Ninth Grade Academy, which provides tutoring to students. Harvest Youth Club is an after-school program that serves Harvest Elementary and Sparkman Middle School, offering homework help, a STEM club, board and video games, an expansive playground and plenty of physical activities like basketball, volleyball and jump rope. The weekly rate is $45 a week per child.
Harvest Alabama is home to Endeavor Elementary.
Sparkman Middle School is part of the Madison County School District.

Hiking and fishing around Lake Judith
For outdoor fun, check out Lake Judith, a prime local fishing spot. Just east of Harvest-Cluttsville is Harvest Square Nature Preserve, which offers over two miles of trails, ponds, fishing piers and plenty of opportunities to spot native wildlife. A full 33 of the preserve’s acres are used for farming. The remaining 36 acres are home to deer, turkey, raccoons, foxes, beavers and all sorts of amphibians.
