An active community less than 5 miles west of downtown Lake Oswego
On any given day in Oak Creek, residents enjoy walking their dogs, biking down cul-de-sacs and heading out for daily jogs. “People are just out all the time,” says Teresa Spangler, chair of the Oak Creek Neighborhood Association. Nearby recreational spaces foster an outdoor lifestyle, and restaurants are not far from the community, either. Adding to the appeal is a location less than 10 miles from Portland, large homes and the highly rated Lake Oswego School District. It’s more than these characteristics that attract people here, according to Spangler. “It’s a little throwback, you know?” she says. “Where, literally, some people can walk to school, and they know their neighbors. I don’t think you get that anymore.” With many appeals to the community, “it does attract people from all over,” Spangler says. “It’s not necessarily a bunch of people who grew up in Oregon. That’s another nice thing if you’re not from here.”

There are monthly HOA fees for townhouses, condos and some single-family homes here. Buyers will find that the community receives a CAP Index Crime Score of 3 out of 10, compared to the national average of 4.
