Diverse Clinton thrives with dedicated community leadership
The northeast Lincoln neighborhood of Clinton embodies diversity. Not only are its families from around the world, but its shops and restaurants also reflect those varied heritages. Dating to the early 1900s, Clinton has developed into a collection of cultures with “residents from more than 20 countries,” says Matt Kirkland, owner of Giving Realty and a Lincoln real estate agent for over 20 years. The Clinton Neighborhood Association, a volunteer-run non-profit, looks after the needs of some of the community's residents, launching such initiatives as clean-up days and a summer nutrition program for kids who ordinarily rely on school-served meals, working with educators, police and other organizations. "When they want to start something new in Clinton, you can bet it will succeed,” Kirkland said.

Bike lanes link to UNL's main campus
Clinton is immediately adjacent to University of Nebraska's main campus, which means traffic can get difficult to navigate on college football game days. Drivers can make the trip in less than 15 minutes with Lincoln’s typically minimal traffic. While residents often walk and bike to get around Clinton, cars and city buses are the most popular form of transportation.
