Little occupied the land around Acres Green right before the turn of the 21st century. However, this south Denver metro area has since seen rapid growth. While Acres Green has resisted annexation efforts, the surrounding development does put the community close to a dense mix of chain brands, breweries and other places like a skydiving simulation facility. Within Acres Green, many enjoy quick access to neighborhood parks and a community that often organizes activities like yard sales and seasonal food truck visits. “In my experience, Acres Green continues to attract homeowners thanks to its prime location, strong school district and no mandatory HOA,” says Olga Telesin, a Realtor with Exit Realty. “They are a tight and very friendly community. Many of them know each other and are on a first-name basis.”

Architectural styles offer a nostalgic 1970s feel
Acres Green’s development began in the 1970s, and much of its architecture reflects that era. The housing mainly consists of ranch-style, split-level and bi-level homes, all located along streets lined with spruce, fir and pine trees. The area also has some Colonial Revivals from the same period. While no properties here exceed an acre, some lots still give homeowners enough room to keep recreational vehicles and boats. Costs go from $420,000 for a bi-level to about $730,000 for a Colonial Revival. “It’s an older neighborhood, and everything around it is newer, but Acres Green kind of gives you that true, growing up in Colorado feel,” says Jordan Boe, who grew up in Acres Green and is general manager at iFly Indoor Skydiving.
