South Albany - an evolving enclave

On the edge of town, South Albany has excitement in unlikely places. Tranquil gazebos rest beside rock-filled gardens and waterfalls on 18 whimsical holes of the Lakeshore Miniature Golf Course. With new housing developments, expanding local businesses and a community college, South Albany is evolving into a distinguished locality less than 4 miles south of downtown Albany. "South Albany is a purely residential area of town," says Corey Baron, an Albany native and Broker with RE/MAX Integrity. "The traffic isn't nearly as bad as North Albany, and it's got a lot of parks around the community college. It's a nice little area."
