The MTN District is filled with local shops and restaurants
The city refers to its downtown as the MTN District. It is filled with local restaurants, bakeries and breweries, and drinks can be enjoyed while walking around the area. “A lot of those buildings are more than 100 years old,” Weathers Smith says. “With all the new restaurants and bars, they are coming back to life.” Retail boutiques are also abundant. The city recently announced that a retail and restaurant development called Sand Mountain Marketplace is coming soon.

The Albertville Museum is in the heart of downtown
The city has tried to inject more culture into its downtown in recent years, including moving the Albertville Museum downtown in 2019.
The Downtown Albertville Farmers Market operates twice per week from May through August and once per week in September and October. Each summer, the Made on the Mountain Festival celebrates life on Sand Mountain with live music and food trucks.
