Grid-like streets and ranch-style homes
Bike lanes along main roads and sidewalks present throughout make Sombra Del Monte a pedestrian-friendly neighborhood. These grid-like streets run past mature trees and occasional basketball hoops within two-car driveways. Brick-clad ranch-style houses built during the 1950s and 60s fill the neighborhood. Almost all have attached garages, and pebbled front yards almost always appear with rocks, cacti or other Ran plants. Homebuyers can expect a price range from $190,000 to $435,000, depending on size and condition.A local park, library and swimming pool
Hoffman Park is a hotspot for picnics and family gatherings just east of the neighborhood. The green space also features a playground and a series of athletic courts. Betsy Patterson Swimming Pool, a half-mile north on Dellwood Road, offers two pools for exercise and recreation. Just south, Tony Hillerman Public Library is home to several clubs and the Albuquerque Rose Garden, where visitors can stroll down paths surrounded by over a thousand roses in spring.School Choice and Sandia High's technology initiative

She also notes the festival brings an uptick of visitors to Walter White's house from the hit show "Breaking Bad," 3 miles northeast. "They get on average, 200 to 500 visitors daily," she says.Getting around on ABQ RIDE buses and Interstate 40

Residents can pick up a pastry from within the neighborhood at Little Bear Coffee on Pennsylvania Street Northeast. Sonya Avila, a Realtor with eXp Realty and an east Albuquerque native, notes the café as a popular spot among locals alongside Los Cuates on Menaul Boulevard. “They serve New Mexican food, which is a staple of the area,” Avila says. A Walmart Supercenter is nearby on Wyoming Boulevard Northeast. Still, most shop a mile southwest where Coronado Center, the state’s largest mall, ABQ Uptown and Winrock Town Center are clustered. “They just opened an outdoor space at Winrock with a park and food vendors,” Avila says. “They have markets where people sell produce and host live music. It’s one of the newer things coming to Albuquerque.” Trader Joe’s is also in this commercial corridor for grocery hauls.
