Tennyson Oak’s spacious, upscale homes and well-manicured lawns make it Alexandria, Louisiana’s “it” neighborhood. Many properties boast amenities like pools and covered outdoor kitchens for entertaining. “In my opinion, it’s the most sought-after neighborhood in Alexandria,” says Rusty Wilder, a broker with The Wilder Group, who lives in Alexandria. Residents here are just a mile from shopping and restaurants and students are slated to attend top-ranked Alexandria Senior High School. “The demographics are a little bit older,” says Carissa McDaniel, a Realtor with EXP, who grew up in Alexandria. “A lot of people have lived there for a very long time, but I’m noticing that they are getting some younger families transitioning in.”

To stock up on groceries there’s a Walmart Neighborhood Market less than 2 miles away. “I really like that everything is so close together,” McDaniel says. “Nothing is more than 15 minutes away in Alexandria. You can get to the mall, Kroger and the Wal-Mart within minutes”
