West Pointe is a sought-after Alexandria neighborhood
West Pointe in Alexandria, Louisiana gives off HOA vibes without the HOA fees. Newcomers are largely drawn to the established neighborhood because it’s been so well kept up. The majority of homes have been updated and the spacious properties feature neatly trimmed laws and manicured shrubbery. “It’s one of the more sought-after neighborhoods in Alexandria,” says Carissa McDaniel, a Realtor with EXP Realty, who grew up in Alexandria. “A lot of those homes have pools and outdoor kitchens. West Pointe homes offer plenty of land
West Pointe offers an attractive mix of Acadian-style and ranch homes, largely built in the late 1990s and early 2000s. Homes typically rest on lots of more than a quarter-acre. “There are not a whole lot of trees where it would affect your foundation, but you have greenery,” McDaniel says. “You have curb appeal.” Streets are lined with sidewalks, making it easy for residents to get their steps in or take a morning jog. Prices range from $200,000 to $400,000. “That neighborhood holds its value,” McDaniel says. “You really get your money back. Your money is constantly rising.”
According to CrimeGrade.org, West Pointe has an overall crime grade of C-plus, meaning that its crime rate is slightly lower than that of the average U.S. neighborhood.
