Shopping and dining options are on the neighborhood's southeast corner. The locally owned Burgie's Coffee is where patrons enjoy artisanal coffee and all-day breakfast options. Iowa State University, which is about 10 minutes south of the neighborhood, is the city's primary source of entertainment. Jack Trice Stadium fills with over 60,000 fans for Big 12 football games, and Hilton Coliseum can hold around 14,300 fans for its men's and women's basketball games. Mary Greeley Medical Center is about 10 minutes southeast of Northridge Heights via Bloomington Road and Duff Avenue. Public bus stops along Bloomington Road connect residents to the rest of Ames. Des Moines International Airport is less than an hour south of Ames via Interstate 35.
