Annetta, a scenic Hill Country town just west of Fort Worth
Annetta, a small town just west of Fort Worth, offers scenic views of the northern edge of the Texas Hill Country. “Annetta’s really unique,” says local Realtor Rees Atkins with Rees Atkins Realty Group. “It’s beautiful, actually. The Trinity River rushes through it, and we enjoy some pretty nice views. The median income’s very high, and most everybody lives on a couple acres or more.”
New Traditional homes on acreage properties
Annetta has primarily large New Traditional homes on large lots. “The way the counties do it now, everything’s a subdivision, but you wouldn’t call it a subdivision like you perceive in Dallas or Fort Worth,” Atkins says. “It might be a subdivision with 80-acre lots. They could be very large lots with a pool and a tennis court.” People get creative with their land use in Annetta: “A lot of people have second structures, multigenerational places where they’ve got their main house and their elderly mother or father can live on the land and not in a nursing home,” Atkins says. He also says that most homes in the community have wells and septic tanks rather than using a public water system. Single-family home prices in Annetta start around $330,000 for a 2000s-built home on a half-acre lot and can get as high as $1.7 million for a large luxury new build. Annetta has a 1 out of 10 CAP Index Crime Score, well below the national average of 4.
Aledo ISD is a CTE District of Distinction
Aledo Independent School District gets an overall A grade from Niche and ranks on the site as Parker County’s top school district. Annetta Elementary, Aledo Middle School and Daniel Ninth Grade Campus all get As, and Aledo High School gets an A-minus. In 2025, Aledo ISD was one of 38 Texas school districts chosen as a CTE District of Distinction by the Career and Technical Association of Texas. CTE learning opportunities start in middle school, and the district offers 10 career clusters and over 40 industry-based certifications.

Shopping and dining in Willow Park, Aledo and Fort Worth
“We’re 15 minutes from the west side of Fort Worth,” Atkins says. “You feel like you’re in a super rural area, but you can be in civilization and shopping very quickly.” Closer dining options are available 5 miles north in Willow Park and 5 miles east in Aledo. Willow Park features Drake’s Yoke, a local barbecue restaurant, and Sunny Street Café, a brunch chain.
