Students can begin their education at Greenleaf Elementary School before attending Falcon Ridge Middle School, both of which receive a B-plus grade from Niche. Two popular shopping centers are just a few miles south
Around 2 miles southwest, the shopping area surrounding 150th Street West and Cedar Avenue offers various chain restaurants, services and retail like Burlington, Half Price Books and Walmart Supercenter. Locals also head 5 miles south to 160th Street West, where a shopping center with Target and Hy-Vee has sprung up in recent years. “It’s part of how quickly everything’s evolving in the area,” says Hartig. “Around 15 years ago, it was all farmlands out there. Now there’s a ton of shopping, food, everything.” Ole Piper offers laid-back food in a family friendly atmosphere. Though their menu is varied, their specialty is pizza, with deep-dish, Chicago-style and gluten-free options. Southern Social adds an upscale twist to classic staples like fried green tomatoes, jambalaya and chicken and waffles.

Scott Highlands has over a dozen public parks and outdoor destinations, including Long Lake Park, which offers canoe access to enjoy the water or fish for Walleye and largemouth bass. The Minnesota Zoo is right next door on the neighborhood’s northern border.
